To instructors, coaches, and competitors,

the grappling arts in the Omaha area. We have successfully made bjj/submission wrestling a regular event in
the Omaha, NE/Council Bluffs, IA/, but we are still spreading the word. We want to accomplish a couple of
things with this letter in order to help others understand exactly what is intended with the our event.
First, we want to promote grappling in the immediate area. We accomplish many things by doing so, i.e., the
development of local fighters/grapplers, the development of local coaches and instructors, the establishment of
standards within the grappling arena for the participants, the development of brotherhood amongst the local
and regional grappling organizations, increased memberships for local organizations, exposure to a growing
fan base, and much more.
Second, this particular circuit is intended to have enough frequency which will allow team building within the
various grappling organizations in the area. So often our local competitors must travel to other regions of the
country to compete. Now we don't have to...we can compete here, at home.
Third, this competition will start out raw, meaning that we will concentrate on the basics for running the
tournament. We will simply weigh-in, develop our brackets, and let the fights begin.
Last, we will be utilizing experienced and certified International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation officials, only, to
ensure that the integrity of the event is held to the highest standards. We want to ensure that the competitors
and coaches will get the most out of the experience.
With these thoughts in mind, like Rodrigo Vaghi would say, "Let's go guys" and get your people ready. It's time
we get on the "mat" and put grappling in the Omaha area on the "map".
